(* 1965, Skopje, Makedonija). Leta 1990 je diplomiral iz tiskarske umetnosti in grafičnega oblikovanja na Fakulteti za umetnost v Skopju. Leta 2003 je magistriral iz umetnosti digitalnega tiska na Univerzi Cirila in Metoda v Skopju. Več kot 20 let je deloval na področju umetnosti in grafičnega oblikovanja. Raziskuje možnosti elektronskih medijev, teorijo barve na področju digitalne umetnosti. Kot art direktor in grafični oblikovalec je sodeloval z najpomembnejšimi ustanovami in organizacijami v Makedoniji: bil je oblikovalec Muzeja sodobnih umetnosti, Skopje (1994-1998) in v Design Studio Skenpoint a.d. Skopje (1988 – 2008), visiting professor na University American College Skopje (2006-2009). Od 2008 predava na oddelku za industrijsko oblikovanje, leta 2009 je bil imenovan za vodjo oddelka za grafično umetnost na Fakulteti za umetnost v Skopju, kjer je postal leta 2015 izredni profesor. V zadnjih letih predvsem oblikuje socialni poster, objavlja svoje vizualne komentarje na socialnih omrežjih o dogodkih, osebah, mentaliteti ali kulturi v Makedoniji ali na Balkanu ali o globalnih temah. Prejel je nagrado za najboljšega študenta na oddelku za tiskarsko umetnost in grafično oblikovanje (1989), na tretjem bienalu za mlade umetnike v Muzeju sodobne umetnosti v Skopju (1991, za najboljše grafično oblikovanje za publikacije v letu 2004 pri Open Society Institute Macedonija (2005). Njegova dela je odkupilo več muzejev doma in v tujini, izbrali so ga za razstave na mednarodnih razpisih (Skopje, Francija), je član Zveze umetnikov Makedonije od leta 1990, od 2012 je podpredsednik Instituta Dante Alighieri v Skopju in od 2013 član zveze Cluster for innovative and creative industry, Skopje.
Samostojno je razstavljal v Kranju (2002), Skopju (2003, 2004, 2005, 2009), Bitoli (2005, 2007, 2013), New Yorku (2011), Berlinu (2012), Sofiji (2014)
Skupinsko je razstavljal v Skopju (1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 2001, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2012), Bitoli (1990, 2007, 2009, 2012), Chamallier, Francija (1997), Osije, Hrvaška (2004), Gornji Milanovac, Srbija (2008), Subotica, Srbija (2009), Alijo, Portugalska (2013, 2014), Solun, Grčija (2015), Radzionków, Poljska (2015), Trbiž, Italija (2016), Vicenza, Italija (2016), Caerano di San Marco, Italija (2016).
LADISLAV CVETKOVSKI was born in Skopje in 1965. In 1990 he graduated from the Department of Printing Art and Graphic Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Skopje. In 2003 he became Master of Fine Art, in the field of digital printing art at the “Ss. Cyril and Methodius University” in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia, Faculty of Fine Arts in Skopje. For more than 20 years Ladislav Cvetkovski has been engaged in the fields of fine arts and graphic design.
Currently, he is working as a university professor at the Faculty of Fine Art in Skopje, simultaneously continuing with his career as a fine artist and designer as well. Over the last two decades, he has extensively been researching the electronic media technological possibilities and theory of colour, focusing on the digital art. The results of the undertaken research were presented as a thesis prepared for the postgraduate final exam and exhibitions realised in the period 2002 to present. As an art director and graphic designer, he has been cooperating with the most significant institutions and organisations in the Republic of Macedonia.
During his extensive career, he has worked as a designer at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Skopje (from 1994 to 1998) and at the Design Studio Skenpoint A. D. Skopje (from 1998 to 2008).
In the period 2006 - 2009 he was engaged by the University American College Skopje in a capacity of visiting professor. Since 2006, Ladislav Cvetkovski is working at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Skopje at the “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” University in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia, and in 2015 he became an Associate professor. In 2009 he was promoted to Head of Graphic Art department. Additionally, from 2008 until now he holds lectures at the Industrial Design Department in the frame of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the same University.
His main expression language in the last few years is in the form of a social poster. He publishes these visual comments on the social networks. Some of the posters are related to particular events, persons, mentality or culture in Macedonia or the Balkans, while others treat global issues. Yet, the general idea of the posters is to send clear messages applicable to the wider context. The author tends to give his personal comment on some universal occurrences related to the broader social and political ambient in the society.
